:. Pros and Cons .:
I cannot compare this Palm to others on the market
since that would not be fair considering the features that are offered. The
Zire is in a whole new market that lacks features but is very cost-savvy. :. Pros .:
- Amazing price
- Very sleek design
- Batteries last long (rechargeable
too)
- Compatible with all Palm software
:. Cons .: -
No cradle - two cables (USB and Power)
-
Limited memory
-
No LCD backlight
:. Conclusion .:
The Palm Zire does lack in features when comparing it
to everything else on the market. However, the price is right for what its
capable of doing: and that's doing a lot. Lots of software is available for
the Palm OS and it's compatible with this $99 US Palm.
The sexy styling, versatility, and
overall features cannot be found anywhere else on a $99 device. I really
enjoyed using this device and did find it useful. I used the Palm for taking
notes in university and keeping myself organized, playing games on occasion
between classes. The one
feature Palm should not have sacrificed is a backlit screen - that was a
mistake since it hinders where you can use this Palm, such as in dark
lecture halls or other dark places.
Overall, considering the price, features, and
performance, I have to give this device an 8/10. modfactor.com rating:
8/10
