During my testing of this printer, I measured the ppm and cpm to be both 13 and not 12 as are specified. I was impressed by this because I have seen many companies state their products to perform at a certain specification and yet in real life they perform much worse. This is not the case with Samsung because the printer outperformed its specified speed.

The printer is set up with a user-friendly interface, clearly displaying button functions and the monochrome LCD within the unit helps guide even the most technologically-impaired person.

The printer is a snap to setup as well. Out of the box, detailed instructions can make setting the printer up a five minute process. The quick set up guide illustrates how to install the toner and drum into the unit: I thought it would be difficult when I first saw the toner cartridge but it ended up taking 10 seconds!

Once the SCX-5312F was turned on, it did a few diagnostic checks and was ready to go. Copying work is a breeze and it takes no time at all to learn how to operate all the bells and whistles of this machine. There are many options for printing and copying: zoom, number of pages, contrast, quality, and brightness. If the image quality is set high, you can print a black and white copy that looks exactly like the original picture.

The printer is also Energy Star compliant and will not waste electricity like many others do. It also has a special toner-saving feature that can reduce toner usage by 30% and save money. Overall, this all-in-one can save a business some serious cash in a relatively short period of time.

Another excellent feature is the 30 sheet document feeder. Many small all-in-ones do not have this feature, although it saves a lot of time copying. Instead of having to keep loading new pages in for copying, the document feeder will copy up to 30 sheets that are left inside the compartment.
