It's hard to find a good quality monitor these days that has an excellent flat screen tube with impressive specs and one that is reasonably priced. But once again Samsung has come through with a very nice CRT that's great for gamers or graphic designers on a budget.

:. Samsung SyncMaster 753DF .:

The Samsung SyncMaster753DF is another quality monitor by Samsung with a very attractable price for home or office. The reason Samsung could provide this monitor for a lower price is because they use shadow mask. Let me explain what exactly shadow mask is. Most expensive monitors these days use aperture grille but Samsung decided to use the shadow mask witch is a very thin metal guide that is punched with tiny holes is aligned with the RGB dots and this basically will prevent the main beams from spreading. This is an older technology but some advantages are that it has better focusing and less heat loss, but its still good technology but cheaper to make then aperture grille witch means you pay less for your product.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box and took the monitor is how flat this monitor really is, its amazing when you put an older CRT right beside this Samsung 753DF on the difference a flat monitor makes in looks and in the actual image quality. The Samsung 753DF uses Samsung's DynaFlat technology witch creates a truly flat screen. You will notice in this picture on how truly flat the screen is. The way this technology works is that there is actually a curved screen inside the monitor and then the image projects from that screen to the flat screen that’s outside and that we look at.

One more thing I want to point out is the awesome 0.20mm dot pitch. What this basically means is that if you look up on your screen very closely you will hardly see the actual dots on the monitor, a lot of older monitors and even new ones you will notice if you look very closely at them you will actually see big dots on the screen. This 0.20 dot pitch basically makes the image quality and your viewing pleasure much better then having a monitor where you can see the dots easily.

Samsung put some very nice detail into this monitor for example the monitor has very smooth curves on the side and top and also they made the top part nice and flat so if you would like you can put some small, light stuff up on top. But please make sure you don’t put anything over the holes because CRT produce a lot of heat and this could cause some huge problems later on.

Samsung has done a very nice job on the menu, inside the monitor and also the buttons. The buttons are very basic and no one should have any problems with them but they also do a great job on changing almost anything. Inside the monitor the menu is very detailed and you have all your basic functions and also some extra functions that some power users could play around with.

When I decided to start playing some games I decided to do it at night and during the day when the sun was shining. I was expecting during the day for the sun to interfere with my gaming like it did with my other 17" CRT because of the sun glare but the very interesting thing was that I did not notice any and I was enjoying my gaming experience with out going and closing the blinds. This is another great thing about Samsungs flat monitor. Samsung is using there SMART lll Coating witch is basically a coating that reduces glare and also radiation. At night the games also looked wonderful on this monitor. Colors where sharp and the colors looked nice and bright and not run down or faded.

Another thing I noticed with this monitor is that it’s a bit smaller then other 17"(43cm) monitor but its still 40.6cm viewable like other lager 17" monitors, also the weight is only 16.4 KG with is light for a 17" CRT.
