:. Introduction .:
The
new Yepp MP3 player from Samsung is one of the smallest and best-sounding
MP3 players that I have seen. At first glance, you can already tell this
is truly a quality MP3 player. It is a very rigid device, making it easy
and worry-free to hold in your hand or pocket. The best part about the
Yepp is the fact that when you are listening to your tunes, the actual
player is out of site and out of mind. This allows anyone listening to
MP3s on the Yepp to be able to enjoy their music and not have to keep
worrying about battery power or skipping.
During my use of the
YP-35, I took the MP3 player around to many places. The ultimate test of
comfort and enjoyment came when I
and
about 20 others played a fast-paced
game of road hockey at the local university. I must say that the YP-35
truly impressed me during this battle. Having the player in my pocket, I
soon forgot it was
there because it is so small and light. Prior to the YP-35, I have never
experienced the joy of being able to listen to my favorite tunes while
also enjoying fast-paced activities. That's one huge advantage of having
tiny rigid MP3 player such as the YP-35.
The Samsung Yepp
bears little resemblance to traditional MP3 players because its design is
unlike any other. The buttons for the player are hidden on the side
of
the YP-35, but they aren't your traditional menu buttons either. Instead,
the buttons are the two-way swivel types that are often found on Sony
devices. These are very functional because the chances of accidentally
hitting the
buttons are quite slim, even when the MP3 player is bouncing around in a
pocket. However, for those of you who are extreme sports fans, you will be
glad to hear that the YP-35 also has a 'hold' feature to make sure that
whatever activity you are doing, you will be doing it listening to the
music you love.

Samsung Yepp MP3 Player: YP-35 .:
To turn on the device, simply hold down
the play/stop swivel button for one second. Then you will be greeted with
a beautiful high resolution dot matrix screen, backlit with blue.
One major feature of the YP-35 is its
diverse list of options. Everything from the contrast and brightness of
the LCD to the bass level can be manipulated. These options don't seem to
be all that important if the Yepp is used with headphones. I must mention
before I move on that the YP-35 headphones have Ipod styling and quality
and fit the ear nicely. Most people now use MP3 players in their cars and
if these audio tuning options aren't available or if they lack
customization, your music won't sound like you would like it to. That's
exactly where the YP-35 comes in.
The Samsung Yepp has a new sound chip, dubbed 'SRS
WOW!’ which
dramatically enhances audio. With one click, the audio is setup to augment
bass, treble, and overall clarity. I noticed a big difference with the SRS
Wow engaged, especially while having the YP-35 playing through my car
speakers.
Surprisingly, the Samsung Yepp has a long battery life even though it runs
on one AAA battery. During my testing of the player, I got about 15 hours
of playback time on one AAA. This is definitely a bonus for those who
frequently listen to their music on the go.
