:. Introduction .:
The
Samsung 172T is by
far one of the most unique LCD monitors on the market. I have not seen any
LCD that has even come close to the style and performance of the
172T. This
17" LCD outperforms
a lot of the LCD monitors currently available. It was designed for
high performance usage and therefore the standards are quite high for a
monitor such as this.
The
silver and black styling
also makes this monitor look like so unique because there isn't a monitor
on the market that looks nearly as good as this one. It is so thin and
compact that it makes anyone drool when they see it, especially when they
see how clear, bright, and crisp the image is.

Samsung SyncMaster 172T LCD .:
When I
first saw the package containing this monitor, I thought that there's no
way an LCD can be inside a box that small, but there was! I've seen a lot
of LCD's in my life and this one is so compact and slim that it can easily
fit into a tiny box.
The way it is set up is totally
different than other LCD's. The stand is a
two-pivot system
that allows you to take the LCD
and
turn it into somewhat of a table (just don't put anything on it). This is
also done because the 172T can be
wall mounted! If you do choose
to mount the unit on a wall, Samsung has provided all the necessary
hardware for you to do that. This monitor can be hung on a wall and you
don't have to worry about viewing angles since the
170° vertical and horizontal
angles can accommodate anyone who is surrounding the monitor. The wall
mount system is also very easy to install and comes with detailed
instructions. Anyone who constantly uses their desk and needs all the
space
should consider wall mounting this monitor. But for more entertainment
purposes, one might consider wall mounting the 172T in their kitchen or
basement bar - you'll be the talk of the town! You can't get monitors to
get more versatile than this one. It also includes both Analog and Digital
inputs so this monitor can adapt to the new Digital Video Technology
without incident. And with the two inputs, you can
plug in two computers.
By pressing the "Auto" button, you can change between the two computers.
Another thing this monitor is just
amazing at is playing DVD's and Video Games. LCD monitors have been known
to have lousy video quality since previous technology has "Ghosting" (high
pixel delay). With the 172T you don't
get that: the monitor has some of the fastest pixel speeds of today's
LCD's - at less than 25ms, images and video are displayed flawlessly.
Also, with past monitors, low contrast ratios made watching anything with
darkness, or shadows blend in as one color - Black. This monitor has a
500:1 contrast ratio
which can handle variations in dark colors perfectly. As you can see, the
movie "The Lord of the Rings" at right, looks so good on this monitor that
instead of just playing the movie for the photo shoot, I ended up putting
the camera away and watching the movie because my eyes were so attached!
Another
excellent feature this monitor has is the "on-screen menu". It has
the
most options I've ever seen on a monitor. It is also available in
10 different languages.
The option screen is also very easy to navigate through and has plenty of
"automatic adjust" features so that you don't have to adjust images
yourself. All the small details have been worked out for this monitor.
Whether it be the physical design, the software, and the menu, everything
was thought of in such a way to make living with the "Digital Life" as
easy as possible. Samsung is a company that is leading this "Digit-All"
phase of technology to make it easy for anyone to join the digital
revolution.
