:. Introduction .: One of the most important things to consider, when purchasing a computer, would be the display that you buy to go along with it. This is because it is the screen that you stare at for hours on end, not the computer. However, a lot of people don't think twice on the kind of monitor to get. They think any monitor will do and don't realize that there is a varied supply out on the market: some have better features and quality than others. In June, I reviewed the 17" Samsung Syncmaster 171s and the monitor was actually one I would recommend for gamers that are looking for a great, but still affordable LCD. Today I will have a look at a higher end Samsung LCD, the Samsung SyncMaster 191T. :. Horizontal Frequency: The time to scan one line connecting the right edge to the left edge of the screen horizontally is called Horizontal Cycle and the inverse number of the Horizontal Cycle is called Horizontal Frequency. Unit: kHz Vertical Frequency Like a fluorescent lamp, the screen has to repeat the same image many times per second to display an image to the user. The frequency of this repetition is called Vertical Frequency or Refresh Rate. Unit: Hz Detailed Specifications & Comparisons Looking at this chart you will notice how ahead Samsung actually is compared to it's competitors.
